Indeed. The IEA has some projections around this...I don't have the link handy, but the general gist is global energy consumption will keep going up. We might get lucky though in that since Africa's infrastrucutre is still less developed they are not so deeply invested in fossil fuels, and can maybe leapfrog straight to renewables. Hopefully anyway!

That green line will continue to grow, exponentially, though -yes- our energy needs will also grow… quite possibly exponentially too.
